China/US IPO's Successful
Recent IPO's for US stocks doing business in China have realized
strong gains.
Chinese hotel and air ticketing company Ctrip.com International (Nasdaq:
CTR) December 9, 2003 IPO for CTRP was the the highest
first-day gainer in New York in three years.
Other recent successes include PTR and CHA.
December 2003 - China Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NYSE: LFC) (2628.HK).
Investors ordered 25 times more shares of China's biggest life insurer than
were available. It is estimated that only 1.5 % of the population of
China currently has insurance.
HONG KONG, Dec 22 - Chinese gold mining firm Fujian Zijin Mining Industry
Co Ltd <2899.HK> The retail tranche of the IPO was 744 times
subscribed and priced at the top of its range, due to recent success and
demand for China stocks.

subscribers at June 30, in northern China.

Microsoft (MSFT) will invest $750 million in China over the next three
years.
GM (GM) purchased more than $1 billion in spare parts from China and will
increase that figure dramatically
in the near future.
Ford (F) plans to increase purchases of auto parts in China to as much as $1

General Electric (GE) anticipates purchases from China-both parts and
finished goods-to hit $5 billion
annually in the next three years.

China’s goal
is to become the world's biggest hydrogen power
producer by 2010 with a yearly capacity of 125 million Kw. A number of large projects are being
carried out in the southwestern provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan, Guangxi and
